The Georgian Triangle Tourist Association has a 30 year history of promoting regional tourism experiences. We have a mission to lead and develop partnerships aimed at promoting our regional tourism destination. The Georgian Triangle is a not-for-profit, operating as a registered charity. All revenues raised go to support of our mission.
Our Association represents tourism for the municipalities of Collingwood and The Town of The Blue Mountains. We also represent 260 tourism stakeholders in Collingwood, The Town of The Blue Mountains, Wasaga Beach, Meaford and Clearview Township. The Association’s mission is to promote The Georgian Triangle region, 7 days a week, 364 days a year. The Georgian Triangle area is an exceptional destination, where the Niagara Escarpment meets Georgian Bay and beyond.
The Georgian Triangle operates Visitor Centres in the region in Collingwood and seasonally in Craigleith at the Craigleith Depot. Last year, we saw close to 25,000 visitors come to our Visitor Centres in Collingwood and Craigleith. There is a need for these FREE Visitor referral services and no one else is providing regional information at our level.
We know that Tourism has and will continue to be an economic driver in our region….and it continues to grow. Our members and municipal partners see value in a regional approach to tourism. Collaboration is the key to success. Tourism entities cannot market their business or municipality within a “silo”. Our stakeholders and supporting municipalities see this regional approach as the key to success. A regional approach is key when you have members in 5 municipalities and 2 different counties.
Over the past year, we have been proud to be a partner in the Georgian Bay Destination Development Project. Being part of something that promotes our Georgian Bay destination is important to tourism in our region. This initiative has brought tourism partners and stakeholders together, understanding that we all benefit from marketing within a larger region.
Over the next year, we are excited to move forward with a new Strategic Tourism Plan for the region. One of the first visible changes, our members and public will see, are upcoming changes to our web site and member offerings.
