Canoe or kayak through the trees in spring when the water is high and the bugs aren’t out. A great canoe route begins at Kimberley, from the Beaver River Access Point located off Grey Road 13. You can park and launch there or arrange to have a canoe delivered.

The Blue Mountains has a number of rock and sand beaches including Northwinds Beach, Christie Beach, Craigleith Provincial Park, Council Beach and Peasmarsh Beach. Northwinds Beach is a Blue Flag Beach and is located on Hwy #26 right across the road from the historic Craigleith Depot. Christie Beach offers one of the best sand beaches on this part of the bay and is located at the end of Christie Beach Road, off Highway 26 west of Thornbury. Little River Beach Park is also a Blue Flag Beach near the Thornbury Harbour. The Georgian Bay shoreline offers some great fossil specimens for tracing at Craigleith Provincial Park. Bring some paper and a pencil and trace the lines of 450 million-year old fossils. Peasmarsh Nature Reserve and Beach has a wetland natural area; trout fishing at the mouth of Indian Brook and both sandy and stony beaches. Council Beach is also along Hwy. #26 across from Grey Road #40. Please remember to leave our beaches and shorelines as you found them and preserve them for future generations.
