Scenic views, arts and culture too, make this drive around the Georgian Triangle a double attraction! Start at the Collingwood Museum on St Paul Sreet, across from the Collingwood Harbour. Step inside and learn of our 150 years of marine heritage and history of the town. Then travel west and turn left on Hurontario Street to the downtown. Two blocks down you will see the historic Gayety Theatre,
where Theatre Collingwood holds fabulous productions each summer.
Stop in to see what’s up-and-coming, then take a browse through the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts Centre next door. They feature a new exhibition in the gallery each month. Continue south on Hurontario Street (Hwy 124) to the 30/31 Sideroad, south of Nottawa. Turn right and watch for the entrance to Turtle Creek Art Glass (open by chance or appointment), where you can visit a working
studio and see how stained and fusion glass is made. Spend the night at Pretty River Valley Country Inn just down the road. A quaint inn,
with stellar views of the Pretty River Valley and the Niagara Escarpment.
Head east back to Hwy 124, turn south and take the Glen Huron turnoff, turning left in the village and following the 15/16 Sideroad to Fairgrounds Rd (Conc. 4). Turn right and follow this scenic road into Creemore, the tiny village with many unique and independently owned shops and galleries. Make sure to stop at the
Mad & Noisy Gallery on Mill Street, a collective of artists, primarily from South Georgian Bay, offering an exclusive and ever changing display of contemporary art. Retrace your drive up Mill Street to County Rd 9 and turn right. Continue heading east to New Lowell, then turn left onto County Rd 10. Enjoy the countryside views and keep your eyes open for Leishman Pottery in a century schoolhouse on the right. Shop here for unique Canadian pottery where fun evolves into function. Continue north on County Rd 10
to Hwy 26, turn left and head west through the friendly town of Stayner to the hamlet of Duntroon. Turn left at the lights onto Hwy 124 and take the hilly, winding road to Singhampton. Turn left, then follow Hwy 124 to Hwy 4. Turn right and travel west to Grey Rd 13, turn right and past the Eugenia Falls Conservation Area (good stop for a picnic and view of the falls!) Turn right onto Conc 12B, then right onto Point Rd. On the shores of peaceful Lake Eugenia is
the Lakeside Studio & Gallery (again, open by chance or appointment), featuring original landscapes from the Georgian Bay area. Head back to Grey Rd 13 and turn right, following this
scenic road to the artsy hamlet of Clarksburg. A stop at the Loft Gallery is a must-do! Travel north back to Hwy 26. Be sure to stop on Bruce Street in Thornbury for lunch at one of the quaint restaurants. Turn right at the Thornbury traffic lights onto Hwy 26, then you can head east to Collingwood. Stop at the Craigleith Heritage Depot for a glimpse of the varied history of the
area. Continue up Grey Rd 19 to the Village at Blue Mountain, taking entrance #2 to the parking areas. Within his vibrant pedestrian
Village, numerous restaurants and shops await you, including Brights Gallery which specializes in Canadian fine art. Upon leaving the Village, turn right exiting the parking area and follow this road back into Collingwood.
