SUCCESS BEGINS WITH A GOOD ARCHITECT
Can you imagine building a home without a set of plans? Communities must approach our tourism plans, as if we are designing a house. It should feature a welcoming entry way, all the necessary amenities such as bathrooms, a place to play, a place to relax and a special room for each of your guests. Branding should also be included in a regional community plan. Throughout the past year, our Association has initiated a Custom Image Branding study that will help enhance our new Regional Tourism Strategic Plan. The Georgian Triangle is committed to the development of this plan for tourism. Our branding and marketing is focused on natural tourism travel areas, with a goal to ensure all tourism partners are working better together, with less duplication and clearer definition of roles and responsibilities.
The Georgian Triangle Tourist Association (Georgian Triangle) is a member-based Destination Marketing Organization (DMO), representing 260 businesses in the Georgian Triangle area. The Association is municipally funded via memberships and grants from the municipalities of Collingwood and The Blue Mountains. The stakeholders include two of Ontario’s largest counties (Grey and Simcoe) and five municipalities. Tourism is the dominant industry in this region driving growth in many other employment sectors.
From the beautiful, crystal clear waters of Georgian Bay to the amazing hiking experiences and views along and on top of the Niagara Escarpment, our region stretches from Meaford to Wasaga Beach, including Collingwood and the Blue Mountains and Clearview Township. One of the Georgian Triangle’s main marketing pieces is the region’s Visitor Guide, which focuses on the incredible experiences our region offers. We offer on-line presence through www.visitsouthgeorgianbay.ca.
One of the primary strengths of the Georgian Triangle remains the operation of our Visitor Centres. Our Visitor Centre presence and the personal contact with visitors helps move people throughout the region, extending their stay and tourism experiences and promoting multi-day visits year-round. Over the years, we have expanded our full-time Visitor Centre operations in Collingwood, and added seasonal Visitor Centres at the Craigleith Depot, the Village at Blue Mountain, The Thornbury Chamber and downtown Creemore.
