Look Up Tour
If history and architecture is your thing, The Look Up tour is perfect for you. Explore the features and forms that define the wide range of architectural styles of the buildings in historic downtown Collingwood. Until the start of the 20th century, the architecture of Ontario towns were influenced by styles developed largely in France, Britain and the United States. Few structures are pure examples of a particular style; rather, they are interpretations of those styles depending on local resources, materials and craftspeople. Often, clues to a particular style can be found by literally Looking Up. Rooflines, window styles, turrets and embellishments are often telling features of a particular style. This self-guided walking tour takes about one hour to complete. Click the link to view the map and download the brochure.
