Walk A Mile in Her Shoes

« Back to All Events

Event Name: Walk A Mile in Her Shoes
Event Date(s): October 14, 2017
Location: Collingwood
EVENT_TIMES: 10:30-1:30pm
Description: Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a playful fundraising event that asks men to take a stand against domestic violence by walking in a woman's shoes. New this year, we are asking women (SOLE SISTERS) and children to join in on the fun and walk together as a community.

Participants (team and individuals) can register online at www.myfriendshouse.ca and commit to fundraise a minimum $200 each so we can reach our fundraising goal of $25,000.

Join us for this cheeky event and step up for a very serious issue: domestic violence. On Saturday, October 14th, men will step into a pair of high heels and walk the main street of Collingwood. Domestic violence is a very serious issue, this fun and light-hearted event asks men to challenge each other to make a difference in the lives of abused women and their children.

For the past 5 years, men have braved the red high heeled pump and walked a mile up and down Hurontario Street. Men walk for many reasons; their Mother, their Partner, their Sister, their Aunt, their Daughter, their Neighbour and their Friend.

Challenge yourself or someone else today! Enter as an individual or a team!
