Description: Rediscover the wonders of winter and reconnect with friends and family at the Frozen in Time Festival in Collingwood, Ontario. From December 28-30, Downtown Collingwood will host the annual Ice Sculpture Celebration and Winter Wonderland Village.

The Ice Sculpture Celebration, Canada’s only historic ice sculpture event, will feature more than 30 sculptures located throughout the downtown. The ice sculptures will celebrate our country’s 150 birthday, by showcasing iconic moments in Canada’s history and tying local stories to the role each played in building our great province and country.

World renowned ice carvers compete daily in the Battle of the Chainsaws, daily wagon rides throughout the historic downtown offer a different perspective for viewing the ice sculptures, and as the sun sets, these breathtaking creations come to life with a dazzling array of lights.

Surrounding a crackling fire is the Winter Wonderland Village in the heart of downtown Collingwood. Winter Wonderland Village, presented by Simcoe County, is filled with free fun, family activities, performances and games including traditional street hockey, ice-block building and a ‘Run, Jump, Play’ Activity Zone. New in 2017, is a unique giant double ice slide, which is sure to invite thrills and laughter for the young and old alike! There village is surrounded by great places to eat, buy some hot drinks and an indoor arts & crafts station.

Collingwood’s Frozen in Time Festival is yet another great reason to gather your family and come to Collingwood during the holidays! For a complete program featuring all the activities, visit www.frozenintimefestival.ca.
