Description: Join Tom Hakala to learn about the most popular national pastime in Finland, Skiing! In addition to skiing,Finland also has coffee (the national drink), saunas, herring, and reindeer.
Tom started skiing as a boy with his parents. He didn’t appreciate the joy of cross-country skiing until his family moved to Owen Sound, and they joined the newly organized cross-country ski club. Now that he is retired, he and his wife ski or snowshoe most days in the winter and bike or hike in the summer.
